A former family therapist of 15 years. In my private practice I would see fragile teen girls being sent into my office to get “sorted” while their well intentioned mothers were banished to the waiting room. After seeing this over and over I realized something had to change. What these mothers and daughters really needed support with was to have a close, supportive relationship. If I could teach their mothers how I connected, supported and lifted up their daughters, they could do the same for the life of their relationship.
